Kate Ince, who took these shots, called me one night asking If I could make 7 different props for Pocky USA and send them to LA in one week. I said yes. This was the result of some very long days and nights , one of my favourite projects to date.
About the process
The playground and the world props were very straight forward for me I envisioned them and just replicated what I had in my mind, but the dragon, uff! the dragon was the most complex one, and it needed to be the star of the show since it was going to be for an ad celebrating the Asian Heritage Month. It had to look like it was coming from both sides of the Pocky box, so I created a smaller box to put behind the packaging and filled it with rocks so it could support the weight of the dragon.
